Phuntsok Rabten, 27, died on 25 March 2009 after being beaten by police at Wada in Drango County. The police then threw his body off a cliff to cover up his death. A monk at Drango Monastery, he had distributed several leaflets in Drango calling on Tibetans to boycott farming and to mourn Tibetans killed in the 2008 protests.

Norlha Ashagtsang, 49, was detained on 27 June 2009 for protesting against the arrest of two Tibetans, Gyurmey Gonpo and Gyatsang Dorje, who had protested against the Chinese government. He was later sentenced to two years in prison and released on medical parole in 2011. He died in March 2011

Goshul Lobsang was arrested on 29 June 2010 following which he was brutally beaten and tortured at the Machu County Detention Centre. He was later sentenced to 10 years. On 27 October 2013, less than three years into his sentence, Goshul Lobsang was released on medical parole. A few months after his release, he died on 19 March 2014 at his home.

On 12 August 2014, Jinpa Tharchin was detained when he joined a protest against the arrest of Wangdak, a respected community leader when security forces fired into the protest. He died due to untreated gunshot wounds and torture by Chinese authorities. It is unclear when he died but his body was handed over to his familiy on 18 August 2014. His pregnant wife later committed suicide.

Konchok Dakpa, a youth from Chamram Village in Diru Township was held incommunicado for weeks since his arrest in December 2013. On 20 January 2014, his body was returned to his family who were given strict orders not to discuss the death with others. He was severely beaten and tortured during his secret detention, indicating that his death was the direct result of police torture.

A former village head and father of eight children, died at the age of 64, at around 2 pm on 19 July 2015 in a hospital in Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR). Lobsang Yeshi was detained on 12 May 2014, along with seven other Tibetans for holding peaceful demonstrations against China’s failure to account for the suicide protests by two other Tibetans – Phakpa Gyaltsen and Rigzin – on 7 May 2014 in Chamdo (Ch: Qamdo) Prefecture in Tibetan province of Kham.
